Running to get onto the first path of her long journey, Dorinda couldn't wait to see what was in store for her. She knew that it would be just herself and her Ralts for a while, as she had carefully studied the Pokemon that were able to be caught before Centre Town, and she wasn't really that interested in them. So instead, she would train her new Pokemon as much as she could as she made her way to the first sort of civilization.
"Come on out Ralts!" The light from the pokeball that surrounded Ralts slowly dissolved into the atmosphere, and Ralts looked up curiously at her trainer. "Rahl?" the Ralts questioned. She had been captured not long before Dorinda chose her, and so she still knew very little about humans and their speech. "Ralts, we have to think of a name for you. I'm your trainer, Dorinda, and we're going to be best friends forever!" Dorinda laughed enthusiastically, and with as much energy as she always had, she knelt down to be more at her Pokemon's height and gave her a quick hug. Ralts didn't understand what this sort of contact was, but she knew that her trainer was happy, so Ralts decided that this was a happy bearing.
"Alright, I've got a list here of the moves you know, but before we go on to testing them out, you need a good name. How about Trixie? Or Lulu? Maybe Kimi?" Dorinda thought for a couple minutes and decided against the names she had called off. Sitting down, feeling as though, for the first time in her life, she had been beaten, she couldn't come up with a decent name for her Pokemon. "Oh," Dorinda sighed, "I thought naming a Pokemon would be much easier than this!"
The unnamed Ralts tilted her head at her trainer in amazement. She hadn't stopped moving her mouth and making jibberish since she'd let her out of the pokeball. Ralts stayed where she was when she was let out of her pokeball, not feeling quite at ease of moving. What was this thing saying? It made no sense to the Ralts, but she did understand one thing - that she'd be with this energetic girl for a long time. Maybe soon she'd say something that the Ralts would recognize.
